Ireland’s East Coast is a perfect place to establish course racing. During the summer months our daily wind speeds and surf conditions are not suitable to free and surf style, however they are ideally suited to racing with an abundance of summer breezes in the 7 to 12 knot range.

One of the hot topic around Irish beaches is Course Racing. Over the last 12 to 18 months this new discipline has gained momentum around the world. With almost all kite brands rolling out production race specific equipment. The IKA is bidding for inclusion in 2016 Olympics. The World Sailing Rules now include kitesurfing. The general sailing community have also become aware of their young sibling, and a vibrant race scene & community is building internationally.
